Version 0.7.15

This is an update to both the base game and the Connectome Explorer, for html5, windows, mac, and linux. Getting them all compiled & QA'd took me a good full day x_x

I'm planning on writing a more in-depth Wicklog tomorrow, but for now, here's the changelog.

Features:

  • Bioluminescent lights now create a corresponding "photophore" neuron that can be toggled or excited/inhibited. The UI for creating or adding to groups of lights is still a little crude but I think folks will be able to figure it out!
  • Set up a private-creature-server system; you can use purchase keys to make an online server that you have greater control over. More details to come in a follow-up post.
  • Multi-neuron selection stack vertically instead of overlaying & making a rainbow vomit:

  • Races have no longer have a 1-minute time limit. They instead show the time for each creature.
  • Camera focuses on beacon when it gets close.
  • Added an indicator and electric beam-line for dragging creatures around.

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed certain sprites popping in/out on the edges of the screen.
  • Increasing simulation rate didn't affect 3/2/1/Go at the beginning of races.
  • Creatures no longer eat their own eggs.
  • Jet organs no longer produce a small constant force when continuously activated; gotta give them a chance to refill.
  • Fixed holding ctrl to move cells while not already focused on the brain.
  • Fixed refresh icon graphic; now rotates in place instead of flying around.
  • Kinda fixed the camera sometimes jumping far away; still figuring out the root cause, but put in a brute-force prevention.
  • Prevent cells from sharing the same name (CE).
  • Cell names now draw underneath brain tooltips instead of on top of them (CE).
